REPRESENTATIVE Brian Raymund Yamsuan and his Team Pagasa launched over the weekend its house-to-house campaign in Parañaque’s 2nd District to determine first hand the needs and grievances of the city’s residents at the grassroots level.

Yamsuan said engaging with the district’s residents at the grassroots enables him and his fellow bets under Team Pagasa to “personally find out what more needs to be done in their respective communities so that we could serve them better.”

“If we want real change, it should come from the grassroots up and not from the top down. Kaya kami nagha-house to house campaign sa unang araw pa lang ng kampanya hindi para lang makipagkamay at kumaway sa tao, kundi para malaman kung ano pa bang mga programa ang dapat pang gawin namin para masolusyunan ang mga problema sa kani-kanilang mga komunidad,” said Yamsuan, who is running for a congressional seat as representative of Parañaque’s 2nd District.

(We are embarking on a house-to-house campaign on the very first day of the campaign period not merely to shake hands with people and wave at them, but to find out what programs still need to be implemented to solve the problems in their respective communities.)

Yamsuan, along with Parañaque City vice mayoral bet Benjo Bernabe and candidates for the city’s District 2 councilors Binky Favis and Tess De Asis, comprise the four-person Team Pagasa or Team Hope.

The team’s platform centers on Yamsuan’s H.O.P.E. agenda, which stands for Health, Opportunities, Peace and order, and Education.

This reform agenda aims to ensure that Parañaque’s 2nd District residents are: 1) provided quality and affordable Health and medical care; 2) equipped with adequate job and livelihood Opportunities to elevate their living standards; 3) assured of Peace and safety in their communities; and 4) guaranteed access to quality Education.

Yamsuan said that while their team’s campaign platform is backed by solid proposals and measures to bring genuine change in Parañaque, directly talking with people at the grassroots level would allow them to finetune these through community-based approaches.

“Napakaimportanteng malaman direkta sa mga kapwa namin taga-District 2 na hindi karaniwang naririnig ang boses pagdating sa mga pagpapasya ng pamahalaan kung ano pa ang mga pagkukulang at mga dapat pang gawin para makita at madama nila ang mga programa ng gobyerno,” he added.

(It is very important that we directly find out from our fellow District 2 residents who usually do not have a voice in the government’s decision-making process what are the shortcomings and what more needs to be done to enable them to see and feel the programs of the government.)

On the first day of the official campaign period for local candidates in the May 2025 elections, the Yamsuan-led Team Pagasa hit the ground running with house-to-house visits in various communities of Barangay BF Homes.

Prior to conducting the house-to-house campaign, Team Pagasa attended mass at BF Homes’ Resurrection of Our Lady Parish.

Team Pagasa capped off the first day of the local campaign period with a massive kick-off rally attended by thousands of supporters at the Zilog, Masville grounds in the same barangay.

A resident of Barangay BF Homes in Parañaque’s 2nd district for over two decades, Yamsuan currently serves as representative of the Bicol Saro Partylist in the 19th Congress.

He decided to run for a congressional seat representing Parañaque in response to the clamor of 2nd District residents for change and improved standards of public service in their communities.
