RhianRhian1RHIAN Ramos got rave reviews for her portrayal of the religious daughter in the hit primetime soap “Royal Blood” who turns out to have deep dark secrets. And right after it, she will soon be part of the new “Sang’gre” action-fantasy series.

In between her two TV shows, she’s happy she got to make her first movie since the pandemic, “Ikaw at Ako”, also her first movie opposite Paolo Contis.

“I accepted the movie kasi I really want to work with Paolo dahil matagal na akong nagagalingan sa kanya,” she says. “He’s so versatile, puede sa drama, puede rin sa comedy at puede rin sa musical kasi may ginawa kaming kumakanta kami sa ‘All Out Sundays’. I’ve worked with him pero on TV lang and this is our first movie together. I also like the story where three couples are represented: puppy love among two kids, then kami ni Paolo as Anton and Marga, a married couple on the verge of breaking up, and last sina Tita Boots Anson Roa and Tito Ronaldo Valdez as an elderly couple face with the problem of Tita Boots having Alzheimer’s disease.”

She says she can relate with her character as Marga. “As a woman, pareho kami, we are ready to give everything when we are in love. I will fight for our love pero kapag nakita kong hindi na talaga puedeng ipilit, I will still choose myself to prevent having a broken heart. Like here, ako yung nagsasabi kay Paolo na ayoko ng ituloy ang relationship namin.”

It’s an open book that she has had a number of boyfriends ao she has gone through a lot of break ups in real life. “Yes. I’ve been there, 23 times, joke! Ako kasi, when I feel that at the end of the day, if you could see that the relationship is not working anymore, huwag nyo nang ituloy. Don’t prolong the agony. Just move on. Ako, I don’t wanna waste my time, and also theirs, kasi I’m sure they also have other dreams for themselves, for their own future.”

Their director in “Ikaw at Ako”, Rechie del Carmen, is better known for directing TV soaps like “Stolen Life” and “Magandang Dilag”. How is it working with her in a full length film?

“First time ko with her and she’s easy to work with kasi very detailed ang instructions niya on how she blocks a scene and how she wants your emotions to come out. Very clear, so we all had a good time on the set. Very generous din siya in expressing her approval if she likes your work.”

It’s also common knowledge that she and our representative in the recent Miss Universe, Michelle Dee, are very close friends. She openly campaigned for her in social media and admitted she felt frustrated when Michelle didn’t make it in the top five.

“I think she deserves to be in top five,” says Rhian. “But I’m glad she won best in national costume, Voice of Change and Spirit of Carnival special awards.”

About her lovelife, Rhian’s relationship with businessman-politician Sam Versoza remains going strong. “We’re okay, we are happy with each other,” she says.
