Woman shot dead in Navotas
A 50-YEAR-OLD woman who left their home after a spat with her live-in partner over her alleged “drug addiction” was shot dead by a still unidentified gunman Saturday before dawn in Navotas City.
The victim from Bgy. Tangos died on the spot from a gunshot wound in the head while the still unidentified gunman, wearing a black jacket, black pants, tube face mask, and barefooted, immediately escaped to an unknown direction after the killing.
In his report to Navotas Police Chief P/Col. Dexter Ollaging, P/Cpl. Dandy Sargento said that two days before the killing, the victim left their house after she and her live-in partner had engaged in a heated altercation over her continued addiction to illegal drugs.
At around 12:45 a.m., the victim’s neighbor, while having a conversation with her friends, noticed a man, described as 5’5 in height, medium built, and wearing nothing on his feet, was running towards A. Cruz Street.
Moments later, they heard a gunshot, prompting them to proceed to the area where they found the victim lying face down in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound in the head in front of a house in A. Cruz St. Brgy. Tangos South.
Elements of Navotas Police, who conducted an immediate follow-up operation, failed to identify and arrest the suspect while the motive behind the killing is yet to be determined.
