‘WE WANT TAGUIG’
THE territorial issue involving Makati and Taguig has elicited sentiments from Makati residents expressing preference for Taguig City taking over their barangays.
They urged all concerned to respect the final decision of the Supreme Court clearly stating that the Enlisted Men’s Barrio (Embo) comprising several barangays, as well as the Bonifacio Global City belongs to Taguig.
Some said they want change in the system of governance and hope for more benefits.
The Taguig City government firmly points out that the high tribunal’s final ruling affirms its rightful jurisdiction over the disputed BGC and Embo barangays.
As the Rules of Court stipulates, the SC decision is no longer appealable, Taguig lawyers emphasize.
