A man who was applying for a police clearance was arrested by operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) after his name got a “hit” in the police clearance system on Wednesday afternoon.

PLtCol. Joewie Lucas, the Station Commander of PS 5, identified the wanted person as Ever Gumata, 35, a resident of Sitio Labajan, Bgy. Mambugan, Antipolo City, Rizal.

Reports showed that Gumata applied for police clearance at about 4:20 p.m. last November 24 for employment but his name has a “hit” status in the e-warrant system.

When verified, he has a pending warrant of arrest for reckless imprudence resulting in slight physical injuries with Criminal Case No. 28346 issued by Janet Abergos-Samar, the Presiding Judge of Branch 32, MTC, National Capital Judicial Region, Quezon City.

The court of origin will be notified on the arrest of the wanted person.

QCPD Director, PBGen. Antonio C Yarra cited that the Police Clearance Section personnel are consistent and alert in arresting wanted persons. “With this modern equipment linked to national crime data bases, walang wanted na nakalulusot,” he added.
