FRESH from a 11-day break, Wangs Basketball @26-Letran puts its unbeaten streak on the line as it battles EcoOil-La Salle in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena.

Behind huge games from Mark Sangalang, Brent Paraiso, and King Caralipio, the Knights posted three consecutive wins to secure the solo lead.

There’s a big chance that Wang’s-Letran’s big guns Fran Yu and Rhenz Abando may finally make their season debuts alongside the expected comeback of coach Bonnie Tan in match scheduled at 1 p.m.

Apex Fuel-San Sebastian shoots for its fourth win in a row as it takes on Centro Escolar University in the day’s other game at 3 p.m.

The Knights have not played since July 15, where Wang’s-Letran fended off a late game challenge from Marinerong Pilipino to take the 70-64 win.

A victory over the Green Archers will give the Knights a place in the playoffs.

EcoOil-La Salle coach Derick Pumaren emphasized the importance of every possession to his young wards as part of the team’s off-season build-up to the UAAP.

“We need to learn from this, that we have to be cautious and take care of the basketball every time. Because if we don’t, these losses will happen,” said Pumaren.

The Green Archers are coming off a 51-73 loss to the Stags last Thursday.

Apex Fuel-San Sebastian is also on a winning roll, as the Stags are currently tied with the Skippers in second place at 3-1.

But coach Egay Macaraya isn’t one to feel overconfident as he continuously demands excellence from his crew led by the do-it-all Ichie Altamirano.

“Importante para sa amin to step up together on the defensive end sa mga susunod naming laro,” said Macaraya after the Stags’ 22-point romp of the Green Archers.

CEU, though, are no pushovers as seen in its 86-69 blowout win over Builders Warehouse-UST last week.

“Ang gusto ko sa team ko, kahit bata sila, lumalaban silang lahat. Ayaw nilang maging kulelat,” said Scorpions coach Chico Manabat.

Currently tied with EcoOil-La Salle at 2-2, a win will boost CEU’s chances of making it to the next round.
