
Vax program in Naic, Tanza suspended due to hike in COVID infected frontliners
NAIC, Cavite Mayor Junio Dualan temporarily suspended the vaccination program at the Amisa Medical Mission Hospital in Bgy. Cabuco in Naic Tuesday afternoon, August 10, 2021, after a doctor and three nurses tested positive for COVID-19.
Dualan said vaccination will be suspended until August 13.
The mayor also temporarily closed the Naic municipal hall until Friday, August 13, 2021, after four employees of the General Services Office (GSO ) tested positive for COVID-19 and to give way for disinfection procedures.
“We are very concerned that in just the past five days, the number of active cases has doubled. As of now, we have 167 active cases,” said Dualan.
As of August 10, Naic town had 1,238 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 1,027 recovered cases and 45 deaths.
Meanwhile, Tanza Mayor Yuri Pacumio suspended their vaccination program after 18 members of their medical staff tested positive for COVID-19.
“Temporarily suspended po ang vaccination here in Tanza, but we will resume on Thursday, August 12 on all our sites. All the 18 medical staffs are asymptomatic and vaccinated already. We need to isolate for 10 days para hindi na makahawa pa,” said Sanatiz.
In Noveleta town, Mayor Dino Chua implemented a work-from-home policy from August 6 to 15, 2021, due to the increasing number of COVID-19 Delta variant cases in the province.
In Maragondon town, Mayor Rey Rillo ordered the municipal hall closed in Barangay Poblacion from August 11 to 15, 2021 to give way for the disinfection activity. Office will resume on Monday, August 16.
