UPHSD outplays San Sebastian

UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help System Dalta remain undefeated in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament following a 25-10, 19-25, 25-22, 25-19 win over San Sebastian yesterday at the JRU Gym.

Rookie Jem Menor notched a team-high 21 points on 20 attacks for the Lady Altas as the Las Piñas-based squad picked up its sixth win of the season.

Perpetual is enjoying its finest start since completing a nine-match sweep of the eliminations in 2012, the year the Lady Altas won their first-ever title.

Shai Omipon had 13 points and seven digs, Joyce Daizerlyn Uy had nine aces for a 15-point showing, while Winnie Bedaña was the other Perpetual player in double digits with 12 points.

Not far behind is Letran, as the last season’s runner-up improved to 5-0 following a 25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Judiel Nitura showed the way for the Lady Knights, scoring a match-high 17 points on 15 attacks and two blocks.

The Lady Stags absorbed their second loss in five matches while the Lady Generals fell to 1-4.

Five-peat seeking Perpetual topped San Sebastian, 25-20, 25-19, 25-18, for its second straight victory in the men’s division.

KC Andrade registered a game-high 15 points from 10 attacks, four blocks, and an ace to lead the Altas who improv7ed to 5-1. Jeff Marapoc and Kobe Tabuga had 13 points apiece.
