Tulfo: Gov’t funding for livelihood should be extended
THE government should extend the distribution of free livelihood funds to the poor and those with no income in the country.
This was the message of ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo during the founding anniversary of the Market Vendors Cooperative of Puerto Princesa City recently.
“May libreng pondo na ipinamamahagi ang DSWD sa mga walang hanapbuhay at kinikita na P15,000 bawat tao,” Cong. Tulfo said.
He added, “ito ay sa ilalim ng Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) ng ahensya para matulungan ang mga pamilya na kapos o walang kinikita”.
SLP is the program of the Marcos administration which aims to help in raising the standard of living of poor Filipinos.
Presently, the SLP has P7.4 billion in funds for the year 2024.
“Kailangan lakihan pa ang pondong ito sa susunod na taon para mabigyan din ang mga solo parents, senior citizens at PWDs na kalimitan ay kulang o walang kinikita para maitawid ang pangangailangan sa pang-araw-araw na gastusin,” said the House Deputy Majority leader.
“Ito naman talaga ang gusto ng pangulo na sabay-sabay tayong lahat sa pagbangon lalo na ang mga mahihirap at walang kinikita,” Tulfo added.
