LAST December 26, the Communist Party (CPP) issued its ‘traditional’ anniversary statement on the occasion of its 53rd anniversary. If for others, the statement has become “boring” for merely repeating the CPP’s ideological and propaganda lines over the past five decades, to its members, however, they are actually ‘marching orders,’ party ‘directives’ that would guide them on what is to be done and needs to be done, especially this year.

And going over the 53-page document (of which 27 pages are the English version), yours truly gets the impression that, One, the CPP is desperately trying to be ‘politically relevant’ in the coming 2022 polls by “hoping” it could still “swing” VP Leni Robredo back to their alliance thru the 1Sambayan where the CPP is well-represented thru its various front organizations in Congress and the legal mass movement.

Indeed, while heavily criticizing VP Leni for “departing” from the CPP-sponsored line against the NTF-ELCAC and its Barangay Development Program (BDP) after she met up with the AFP leadership last November 26, 2021, the CPP in its statement, is still leaving the door open for their ‘rapprochement’ when it said she can still “win the support of the patriotic and democratic forces (read: the CPP) should she agree to “free all political prisoners” and “resume” the long-ended peace talks with the CPP thru the NDFP.

To my mind, the 1Sambayan, where it is a part of thru its front organizations and VP Leni in particular, is actually the party’s only “entrance” back to political relevance as the 2022 polls loom considering that no other mainstream political parties running next year has shown interest in forging any sort of alliance with CPP front groups.

But that as it may, the second ‘instruction’ that the CPP issued and which can only mean troubled days ahead for our country was its call for the “broad mass movement of patriotic and democratic forces” (read: its front organizations) to “prevent” the next administration, particularly, the tandem of former Sen. Bongbong Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte from winning (“steal” the election, claims the CPP) or in the case of victory, “prevent it from consolidating power and challenging its reign from Day One.”

Translation? The next administration can expect no peace and stability as soon as it enters into office and during its entire reign for the next six years. The CPP and its minions would see to that.

In other words, on top of the monumental challenges the next administration must face, what with the pandemic still around, added to them would be the continuing destabilization and national divisiveness that the CPP intends to mount. Hindi na tayo makakabangon sa krisis, tsk!

The question is, are Filipinos still willing to bear this added trouble on their shoulders when all we want to happen from hereon is a relief from all that we have just been through especially in the last two years?

The only way to go forward is to reject and expose the devilish schemes the CPP is preparing even now. It is not yet too late.
