Trader gunned down in Zaragosa; wife unhurt
ZARAGOSA, Nueva Ecija – A businessman driving a Mitsubishi RVR sports utility vehicle (SUV) with his wife was gunned down along the highway on Saturday afternoon here.
Police head Major Ronnie G. Caagbay identified the slain trader as Santos Batacan.
His wife was unharmed during the shooting in Purok 3, Bgy. Carmen at 1: 55 p.m.
Police said the couple was traveling in the west direction in a Mitsubishi SUV when upon reaching an intersection, their car slowed down, and two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects suddenly appeared and fired at the victim several times before they escaped towards Bgy. Marawa, Jaen town.
Caagbay said they are still investigating the motive behind the killing.
