Tolentino says Senate will tackle local bills upon resumption of session
SENATE Majority Floor Leader Francis “Tol” Tolentino said that the Senate will tackle local bills that must be acted upon when the session resumes on July 22.
Tolentino said that on the 23rd (of July), the Senate will dedicate the whole day to local bills, which has been the consensus so far since there are many local bills from the local governments and districts that must be acted upon.
“This will be dedicated to local measures,” he said.
Tolentino said he is expecting the House representatives to transmit the local bills to the Senate, which concern about the change of names of colleges , declaration of towns’ anniversaries.
He said the local bills must be tackled separately from priority measures because they will be sidestepped.
