Tingog’s Acidre unveils renamed bridge in Iligan City

TINGOG Party-list Representative Jude Acidre led tthe unveiling of the renamed Tambacan Bridge now known as Mariano Lluch Badelles Sr. bridge in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.

Acidre was joined by Mayor Frederick Siao, Atty. Oscar Badelles, city councilor Atty. Marlene Young, and former barangay captain Jimmy Sales.

Badelles Sr. was the first elected mayor of Iligan City from 1956-1959 and three-term representative of the first district of Lanao del Norte from 1987-1998.

“We feel humbled to rename Tambacan Bridge in Mariano Lluch Badelles Sr. ‘s honor for his contributions in public development throughout his tenure as a public servant,” Acidre said during the opening ceremony.

“His exemplary leadership and dedication to public service have left an enduring legacy that continues to inspire us all,” he added.

Republic Act No. 11989 officially renamed Tambacan Bridge to Mariano Lluch Badelles Sr. Bridge, as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed the law on March 21, 2024.

Meanwhile, Acidre led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new 25-meter bridge in Malalag, Davao del Sur on June 22, 2024. The bridge will connect Purok Camanchile to Purok Lumbia in Brgy. Poblacion, Malalag, Davao del Sur, with an investment of P30 million.

“The construction of this bridge is not just an infrastructure project but a symbol of progress and unity for the people of Malalag. It will greatly enhance connectivity, facilitate commerce, and improve the quality of life for our residents,” Acidre said.

As part of Tingog’s commitment to accelerate social development, the construction of the bridge aims to improve connectivity and support local development.

The new bridge will play an important role in the improvement of transportation and accessibility for the citizens of Malalag and neighboring towns.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Governor Atty. Riafe “Ai-Ai” Cagas Fernandez, Jojo Delos Cientos (representing Cong. Tracy Cagas), Mayor of Padada Frashale Guerrero, board member Lanier “Cowboy” Cadungog, Provincial Federation PCL president Ex-Officio board member Dyane Idulsa, Mayor Peter Paul “Valtan” Valentin, Vice Mayor Ervin Emphasis, incoming Mayor and Kalipi president of Malalag Zorrah “Valtan” Valentin, Tingog coordinator Malalag Kyra “Valtan” Valentin, District Engineer Nicomedes Parilla, Youth Development director Bruce Fortuno, Mayor of Sulop Atty. Jose Jimmy Sagarino, Governor Yvonne Roña Cagas, and SAPG Marc Douglas IV CHAN Cagas.

Lastly, Acidre led the turn-over ceremony of the Lower Mainit Bridge in Malungon, Sarangani. The investment for this infrastructure is worth P89 million.

The successful completion of this pivotal project aims to enhance connectivity and support local development. The new bridge is expected to play a crucial role in improving transportation and accessibility for the residents of Malungon and surrounding areas.

The turn-over ceremony was attended by Atty. Maria Theresa D. Constantino, municipal mayor; Escalda Jr., municipal vice mayor; DE Rey Francisco, DPWH-District Engineer; Engr. Edward D. Carillo, chief of Construction Section, DPWH Sarangani District Engineering Office; Atty. Ryan Ramos, representative of Gov. Rogelio Pacquiao; Engr. Gerard Pacio, representative of Cong. Steve Chongbian; and Edgar B. Allegario, bgy. captain of Lower Mainit.
