Tingog inaugurates new center, gives cash aid to Cebu folk

BRGY. Guadalupe, Cebu City–Tingog Partylist, in collaboration with the Office of the House Speaker, has inaugurated a new Alagang Tingog Center (ATC) in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

Aside from the ATC inauguration, the Office of the House Speaker and Tingog Partylist, in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), also gave out cash aid to residents in Brgy. Opao Gym.

The payout provided financial assistance of P5,000 to each of the 1,000 families in Mandaue City. The cash help is in line with the commitment of House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Tingog Partylist to serve Filipinos in need.

Raffle prizes such as grocery packages, appliances, bikes, and a grand prize of a motorcycle were also given away.

This significant milestone is a part of Tingog Partylist’s flagship program, Alagang Tingog, aimed at extending various government programs and services directly to the people.

The inauguration was made possible through a partnership with Hon. Eduardo “Edu” Rama, the Representative of the 2nd district of Cebu City.

The core vision of Alagang Tingog is to create accessible and inclusive platforms that eliminate unnecessary hurdles and bureaucratic complexities, making essential services readily available to the less privileged.

Through the decentralization of services via ATCs, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between the government and marginalized communities, thus making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

The inauguration event was graced by the presence of key figures, including Tingog Partylist Representatives Hon. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez and Hon. Jude A. Acidre, Hon. Eduardo “Edu” Rama Jr. of the 2nd District of Cebu City, Usec. Terence Calatrava of the Office of the Presidential Assistance for the Visayas, City Mayor Michael Lopez Rama and barangay captains, Allen Borres, Julius Guioguio, Jojo Sable, Elmer Abella, Danny Teves, Arnold Cabonga, Gremar Barete, Dodong Monares, Apol Ross Enriquez and Michael Gacasan.

Mayor Michael Rama delivered the opening message of the event. He thanked the generous partylist for helping the needy and vulnerable citizens of Cebu City.

He further stated that the help that they will be receiving is genuinely from the heart. “The heart and the voice is here in the biggest barangay of Cebu City,” the mayor pronounced.

Rep. Edu Rama delivered a message of support. Rep. Rama also thanked the initiative done by Tingog Partylist. He also announced that an ATC was just opened in the barangay which entails more services to be provided to and availed by the people.

Ultimately, he acknowledged that the cash assistance will not be possible without the generosity of both representatives of the Partylist, Hon. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Hon. Jude Acidre.

During the event, Hon. Romualdez and Hon. Acidre, delivered inspiring messages to underscore the significance of the ATC in the 2nd District of Cebu City and the broader mission of Alagang Tingog.

Rep. Jude Acidre started off by making known that there are already ATCs in the cities of Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, and now, Cebu.

He also stated that Cebu City is the closest to the heart of Hon. Yedda Romualdez as her place of origin.

He also thanked Rep. Rama and the people’s support and because of it, they are able to provide help to the people and promised that more support will be given “With the help of House Speaker Martin Romualdez.”

Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez said that she is a Cebuana herself, having studied in the city. She thanked the present local officials from different barangays for their support as well as the constant aid provided by DSWD.

“It is only right that we also support you” she said. The representative also explained that Partylists, like Tingog, is a partner of district representatives to help the people.
