Time to act
PRESIDENT Marcos’ administration is about to complete its first year in office, with many of its multi-pronged programs and projects now benefiting the people.
After 12 months in office, the Marcos regime ought to act now – and fast – if it wants to realize its dream of transforming the Philippines into a flourishing Asian nation.
And to think that a large dose of political will and enough financial resources are needed to solve these problems and challenges, according to political observers.
“Dahil sa dami at bigat ng ating mga problema ay walang puwang ang siraan at pagkahati-hati, lalona’t kagagaling lang natin sa dalawang taong pandemya,” they said.
Thus, from now on, let’s all act wisely and in the larger interest of this developing country of more than 110 million people by setting aside our many differences.
In the view of many, including constructive critics, “participatory democracy” flourishes when our differences are discussed and settled through dialogues.
The more frequently such friendly dialogues, meetings and consultations are held, the more quickly our differences are settled and our problems are solved.
What is important, in our view, is the willingness and readiness of everybody in the community to resolve their many differences without resorting to violence.
Hindi ba, mga manong at manang?
