Tesda lauds CDC for its tech-voc expertise

CLARK FREEPORT–The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has lauded the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) for its expertise in technical-vocational arena and called it as valued partner during the TESDA Tres Araw ng Pasasalamat 2023 at the Royce Hotel and Casino here.

Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, President and CEO of CDC, along with Jose Miguel de la Rosa, CDC Vice President for the Administration and Finance Group and Lourdes Marasigan, CDC External Affairs Department Placement Officer III, received the plaque of Appreciation on behalf of CDC from TESDA Region III Director Toni June Tamayo.

TESDA recognized CDC for its support and commitment to the Supporting Innovation in the Philippine Technical and Vocational Education and Training System (SIPTVETS) Project.

This initiative significantly contributed to the development of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the country.

Atty. Devanadera likewise thanked TESDA for its collaboration in enhancing the skill sets of the workforce in the Metro Clark communities.

“I should be the one expressing gratitude to you because you are assisting CDC in making our job easier and aiding our locators in developing their manpower.

This is something that is very close to my heart and aligns closely with the programs of CDC,” she said.

Atty. Devanadera emphasized that the provision of training will generate more employable individuals, aligning with the requirements of various locators in the Freeport.

“We are currently under a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with TESDA. It lies at the core of what our locators would like to see–the sustainability of having the right supply of manpower and the right skills.

Our partnership focuses on skills training identified by our locators, making it locator-driven,” she added.

Other key officials present at the event included TESDA Committee President Atty. Maria Amalia Cayanan, Central Luzon Association of TVIs President Gregorio Sison, Jr., TESDA provincial directors and members of the Regional Technical Education Skills Development (RTESD).

In October of this year, CDC, TESDA, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the World Link Institute for Technical Studies Inc. (WLITSI) signed an agreement for the provision of training programs in hilot and wellness massage, nail care, shielded metal arc welding, industrial sewing machine operation and housekeeping.
