Tanod flags down MC-riding men with loud muffler, shot
CABANATUAN CITY — A barangay tanod was wounded after he was shot repeatedly by one of two motorcycle-riding men on Sunday midnight in this city.
City police head Lt. Col. Renato Morales said the shooting incident transpired in Bgy. M.S. Garcia at 12:05 a.m. Sunday.
“Nagpapara po ng maingay na tambutso ‘yung isang tanod nang bigla na lang siya paputukan ng isang bakrider ng motorsiklo,” Morales said.
He said the still unidentified barangay tanod survived the incident after he was hit only at the side of his body.
“Buhay po, sa tagiliran ang tama niya, apat na putok isa lang talaga directed sa tanod, ‘yung ibang bala sa concrete pavement po,” added Morales.
The police official said they are now investigating the incident, including the review of CCTV footages in the area for identification and arrest of the suspects.
