LAPU-LAPU City–The Office of the House Speaker and Tingog Partylist, in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Ma. Cynthia “Cindi” King Chan, distributed cash aid to 1,000 Lapu-Lapu City residents.

A total of 1,000 beneficiaries received P5,000 each to support their daily needs.

Aside from the cash assistance, free porridge was also distributed. Raffle prizes, such as grocery packages and home appliances, were also given away.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Tingog Partylist remain committed to helping Filipinos in need in the name of public service through partnerships with local officials.

The Speaker said the citizens in Lapu-Lapu City were able to experience the “Alagang Tingog.”

Present at the event were Party-list representatives Yedda Marie K. Romualdez and Jude A. Acidre, District Representative, Rep. Cindi Chan, Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan, Terence Calatrava, the Undersecretary of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas and city councilors, Mama Abeth Cuizon, Jun Alforque Jr., Tino Aying, Linda Susan Baring, Janvi Dela Serna, Efren Herrera, Nelson Yap, Montor Tatoy Jr., Jeorgen Eyas-Book, Joseph Pangantungan and Emilio Galaroza Jr.

Comedian-artist Wacky Kiray also attended the event as a guest performer.

Rep. Chan thanked House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Rep. Romualdez and Rep. Acidre. Rep. Chan said the residents are lucky because they received assistance from the representatives of the party list.

“We have the responsibility to do something… as your voices in the Congress,” the representatives added.

Mayor Chan said unlike others, Tingog party list gives help when need arises without expecting in return.

Acidre, meanwhile, said that Lapu-Lapu is near to the heart of Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez.

Acidre also stated that the assistance will not be possible without the help of House Speaker Romualdez, who is currently in Northern Luzon leading the relentless relief operations for Egay victims.

Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez thanked the people of Lapu Lapu City for making the Tingog as number 1 partylist in the Philippines garnering 96.8% rating in the recent survey.

She assured the people that Tingog will always be there for them and highlighted the Alagang Tingog Centers (ATCs) are ready to help anytime.

Romualdez also wished for the sustained support for Tingog even though the midterm election is still far away because the relationship between Tingog and the people is not transactional.
