The distribution of aid was led by Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and local officials. The payout was conducted from October 18 to 21.

It was former Civil Service Commission chair Karlo Nograles who distributed aid in Davao City on Monday where a total of P14.5 million was distributed to 4,859 beneficiaries.

Speaker Romualdez stressed that the distribution of aid is a proof of President Marcos’ promise that they will not neglect the welfare of Davaoeños.

Ang AKAP program ay tugon para makatulong sa kanilang pang-araw-araw na gastusin,” added the leader of the House with more than 300 strong members.

According to House Deputy Secretary General Sofonias “Ponyong” P. Gabonada, the four-day event aims to help the marginalized sectors especially the poor communities.

Gabonada said the distribution of aid happened in Davao del Norte on October 18 where a total of P48.625 million was distributed to 9,725 beneficiaries who received P5,000 each.

Beneficiaries include teachers, non-teaching school personnel, mall employees, private hospital staff, and low-income residents.

Local officials such as Vice Governor Oyo Uy and Representative Alan Dujali also played a major role in the distribution of financial assistance.

Poor students were also helped through Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).

Rep. Maricar Zamora, Councilor Myrill Apit of Mawab, Vice Mayor Honeyboy Libuangan ng Laak, and community leaders from Maco, Mabini, and Nabunturan also helped to make sure that the aid distribution will be successful.

On October 21, the payout was carried out in Davao City where P14,577,000 worth of cash aid was distributed to 4,859 beneficiaries. Each beneficiary received P3,000.

Speaker Romualdez recognized the national government officials and local governments for the success of the AKAP distribution.

Meanwhile, Nograles thanked the national government for helping the Davaoeños.

Speaker Romualdez assured that the government will continue to extend the assistance provided to the needy Filipinos to help them recover.
