MALUGOD na tinanggap ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez nitong Martes ang pinakahuling ulat ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) na nagpapakitang patuloy ang pagbaba ng unemployment rate sa bansa—isang positibong senyales umano ng lumalakas at lumalawak na ekonomiya ng Pilipinas.

Batay sa Labor Force Survey ng PSA, bumaba sa 3.8 porsyento ang unemployment rate nitong Pebrero 2025, mula sa 4.3 porsyento noong Enero. Ito na ang pinakamababang antas sa loob ng tatlong buwan, kung saan nasa 1.94 milyong Pilipino na lamang ang unemployed, mas mababa kumpara sa 2.16 milyon noong nakaraang buwan.

“This improvement in our labor market conditions reflects the growing strength and stability of our economy. It is proof that our policies are prudent and uplifting our people’s lives,” ayon sa lider ng 306-member na House of Representatives.

Iniuugnay ni Romualdez ang pagbaba ng unemployment rate sa pangako ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na lumikha ng mas maraming sustainable economic opportunities para sa mga Pilipino.

“Our President’s clear vision for economic growth is bearing fruit. We, in Congress, are ready to provide necessary legislative support aimed at strengthening investments to create more jobs and skills training to enable our workers to adapt and thrive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape,” aniya.

Binanggit din ni Romualdez ang pagtaas ng employment rate sa 96.2 porsyento nitong Pebrero—mas mataas kaysa 95.7 porsyento noong Enero—bilang isang hakbang patungo sa mas inclusive growth.

Ayon sa PSA, umabot sa 49.15 milyon ang bilang ng mga employed na Pilipino nitong Pebrero 2025. Mas mataas ito kumpara sa 48.95 milyon noong Pebrero 2024 at 48.49 milyon noong Enero 2025.

“With 49.15 million Filipinos now employed, we are seeing progress not just in numbers but in the lives of ordinary citizens,” dagdag ng Speaker.

Binigyang-diin din ni Romualdez ang kahalagahan ng pagbaba ng underemployment mula 13.3 porsyento noong Enero tungo sa 10.1 porsyento nitong Pebrero, katumbas ng 4.96 milyong indibidwal.

“Fewer Filipinos now feel the need to look for additional work. This means better quality jobs and improved working conditions are becoming more accessible,” ani Romualdez.

Gayunman, iginiit niyang kailangang ipagpatuloy ang ganitong momentum ng paglago.

“Let us ensure that no Filipino is left behind in this journey. We will continue to champion policies that generate jobs, uplift industries, and secure a brighter future for every Filipino family,” pagtatapos niya.
