SPD’s warrant day arrest nets nearly 1,800 crime suspects

SPDNEARLY 1,800 wanted persons in Metro Manila have been accounted for by the Southern Police District as a result of its Warrant Day every Friday.

The accomplishments of the SPD headed by Brigadier Gen. Leon Victor Z. Rosete comes in the wake of a directive from Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil to account for all law offenders in the country.

Already on its 24th week, the SPD Warrant Day has already resulted in the arrest of 1,786 persons.

From February 9 to July 19, SPD operatives have already arrested a total of 241 wanted personalities, 633 most wanted persons (MWPs); and 906 other most wanted persons (OWP)s.

The Unit’s 24th Warrant Day resulted in the arrest of 86 wanted persons in Pasay, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Makati, Taguig, Las Piñas, and Pateros.

Of the TMWPs apprehended last Friday, the Makati, Parañaque and Pasay City Police Stations and the Pateros police each tracked down 1 offender.

Rosete said that among those arrested was one Charrie Sarah, a 32-year- old Makati City resident wanted for theft.

Then there was a 54-year-old maan, Alex, who was wanted for a murder case in Pasig City until he was caught in Pateros.

A 3rd was one ‘Elmer,’ a man ordered arrested for a rape case with no bail recommended by the Las Piñas City Regional Trial Court.

A 4th, ‘Jennifer,’ a 34-year old woman wanted for an estafa case in Legazpi City in Albay.

The police chief of Pasay said that among those arrested that week were 11 TMWPs 3, of them caught by the Taguig CPS; 2 each by the Makati, Muntinlupa and Las Piñas CPS and 1 each by the Pasay and Parañque CPS.
