SPD captures 68 most wanted in Metro Manila

SIXTY-EIGHT wanted persons in Metro Manila were hauled to jail on Friday by agents of the Southern Police District as a result of its 21st Warrant Day implementation aimed at accounting for all lawbreakers in the southern part of the metropolis, a report to National Capital Region Police Office director, Major General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said yesterday.

The 68 were arrested on the strength of warrants of arrest for various criminal offenses issued by different regional trial courts in the cities of Pasay, Muntinlupa, Paranaque, Makati, Taguig and Las Pinas and the municipality of Pateros, said SPD director, Brigadier Gen. Leon Victor Z. Rosete.

Those arrested include seven Top Most Wanted Persons, three of them arrested by the Muntinlupa City Police Station and two each by the Pasay and Paranaque City Police Stations.

Thirty-three others were described as Most Wanted Persons, 10 of them arrested in Las Pinas City; eight in Muntinlupa City; six in Pasay City; three each in Taguig and Paranaque cities; and one each in Taguig and Pateros. The SPD District Anti-Narcotics Unit also accounted for one MWP.

On the other hand, 30 Other Wanted Persons were apprehended by the SPD last Friday. They include three in Makati; four in Taguig, one in Pateros, five in Pasay, four in Muntinlupa, four in Las Pinas and six in Paranaque. The SPD District Mobile Force Battalion also arrested one suspect.

Brig. Gen. Rosete said that among those arrested was an alias ‘Reynold, 49, an engineer who was wanted for estafa in Muntinlupa City over the past 23 months until he was arrested while applying for a National Police Clearance in Makati City, and an alias ‘Julius,’ a violator of a city ordinance who has eluded arrest since 2003.

Another was one alias ‘Rexel,’ a wanted 25-year old robbery-holdup suspect in Pateros since 2021; an alias ‘Leo,’ also wanted for a robbery case in Paranaque City since 2010; an alias ‘Paolo,’ a gang member ordered arrested by a Pasay City court in 2004 for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 with a P200,000 recommended bail; an an alias’ Aron,’ a 24-year old man wanted for an attempted homicide case since 2017.

Brig. Gen. Rosete said the arrests were made in line with their intensified effort to account for all wanted persons in the southern part of Metro Manila as ordered by Maj. Gen. Nartatez and Philippine National Police chief, General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil who has instructed the police force to account for all lawbreakers in the country.
