SHOW OF FORCE
ALYANSA Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, the powerhouse Senate slate endorsed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., is set to bring its campaign machinery to Pangasinan on April 25, energizing the “Solid North” with a strong show of force in the country’s fourth most vote-rich province.
With over 2.15 million registered voters, including the component city of Dagupan, and an 87.18% turnout in 2022, Pangasinan remains a cornerstone of national electoral victories.
The province delivered a commanding 1.29 million votes for President Marcos in the 2022 elections, more than five times that of his closest rival.
Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco, Alyansa’s campaign manager, said the Pangasinan sortie signals the coalition’s drive to solidify support in the heart of Northern Luzon.
“Pangasinan isn’t just a vote-rich province, it’s a bellwether. Its support has helped determine who leads the country. Alyansa is here to listen, to engage, and to deliver,” Tiangco said.
The Alyansa ticket features a formidable mix of experience and service: former Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Senator Pia Cayetano, former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Senator Lito Lapid, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Senator Francis “Tol” Tolentino, ACT-CIS Representative and former Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo, and Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.
The coalition is expected to engage voters on key issues such as agriculture, fisheries, flood control, healthcare and job creation, which are critical to sustaining the province’s growth and livelihood.
Tiangco emphasized that Alyansa’s legislative agenda supports infrastructure, tourism and agricultural development tailored to provinces like Pangasinan, which play a vital role in national food security and trade.
“Pangasinan is a pillar of the Solid North. We are here to ensure that every Pangasinense experiences the benefits of progress through livelihood, healthcare, and a better future,” he said.
The Pangasinan sortie is part of Alyansa’s province-by-province strategy to connect with voters and rally support behind a united vision of stability, development and good governance under the Bagong Pilipinas banner.
