Sara keeps lead in surveys
DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte is again leading the election surveys for the vice president position.
In separate surveys of the Social Weather Station (SWS) and Manila Bulletin-Tangere, Mayor Sara is both the top choice of the voters should the elections be held at this time.
In the SWS survey from January 28 to 31, commissioned by Stratbase ADR Institute, Mayor Sara got 44 percent as against her closest rival Senate President Tito Sotto with 33 percent.
They were followed by Senator Kiko Pangilinan (10 percent); Doc Willie Ong (7 percent); and Buhay Rep. Lito Atienza (2 percent).
Mayor Sara is the vice presidential bet of Lakas-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago. She was also adopted by PDP-Laban and People’s Reform Party.
Meanwhile, based on the Manila Bulletin-Tangere survey, which was conducted from February 10 up to 12, Mayor Sara got 53.63 percent of the 2,400 respondents.
The survey was conducted just two days after the official start of the campaign period on February 8.
Her closest rival, Sotto, logged in with 19.5 percent, and in third was Dr. Willie Ong with 15.42 percent.
Mayor Duterte’s presidential tandem, former Senator Bongbong Marcos, was also the president of choice by the respondents with 51.83 percent, followed by Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno with 23.5 percent and Vice President Leni Robredo in third with 14.71 percent.
The strong showing of the BBM-Sara ticket validated and supported the results of a mammoth survey that was earlier conducted by the Laylo Research where the respondents have come from across the country.
The mega poll, which was conducted from January 10 up to 26 and joined by 15, 450 respondents put Mayor Duterte atop with 60 percent preference followed by Sotto with 19 percent.
The same survey showed Mayor Duterte leading in demographics and across age, gender and economic classes of voters.
