Gesmundo1A “NEW” model of the hall of justice in the Philippines will soon rise after the turnover of the land title donated by the San Pablo City local government unit (LGU) through former Mayor Loreto Amante and after the groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday of the 1.5 hectares for the said project in Barangay San Gregorio, San Pablo City, Laguna.

The proposed “New Hall of Justice” is a modern building with IT (Information Technology) capability in line with the modernization program of the Supreme Court (SC) under Chief Justice (CJ) Alexander G. Gesmundo.

The program was held at the SPC Multi-purpose Convention Center, Bgy. San Jose, San Pablo City, and was also attended by former SC CJ and now Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

Mayor Vicente Amante expressed gratitude for Gesmundo, a native of San Pablo City, Laguna, and for gracing the groundbreaking ceremony.

City Legal Officer and retired Judge Agripino Morga explained that the soon-to-be-built structure is the “model” for all the new Halls of Justice in the country.

Various judges in the Laguna province were in attendance, including the San Pablo Bar Association, recognized for supporting the project.

It will be remembered that Laguna 3rd District Congressman Loreto Amante earlier proposed the donated land to serve as the new Hall of Justice for expansion.

Court of Appeals (CA) Associate Justice Danton Bueser and several SC justices attended the turnover and groundbreaking to show support for the new project.
