San Beda, St. Benilde in easy wins

DEFENDING champion San Beda reasserted its mastery of Mapua, 6-0, while College of Saint Benilde scored a 4-1 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College in the penultimate day of the NCAA men’s football eliminations yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Yuki See netted a second-half hat-trick, while John Ariel Marquez, Kirvy Tabelin and Edzon Pormento were also on target for the Red Booters, who also defeated the Cardinals, 11-0, in the first round.

It was a sweet victory for the Blazers as they were held to a 1-1 draw with the Generals in the first round.

San Beda remains in second place with 12 points, one off Benilde, which has 13. The Red Booters and the Blazers will face off at 5 p.m. on Thursday to close out the short double-round eliminations.
