THE incumbent representative of the second congressional district of Northern Samar on Friday called on Samarnons to come out in the open to show their support for the BBM-Sara Uniteam, especially for its standard-bearer Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr.

Cong. Jose ‘Jun’ Ong Jr. stressed that they are not sinning by supporting Marcos hence, they should not be intimidated into keeping their support a secret.

It is not a sin to support BBM,” Ong told the crowd who did not let the rain stop them from attending the UniTeam’s rally in Catarman, Samar.

Due to several days of rain brought by the low pressure area, the huge field in front of the University of Eastern Philippines Grandstand turned into a mud field yet more than half of it was still filled with supporters clad in red and green standing under the rain.

While awaiting BBM’s arrival, the crowd energetically sang and danced to the Bagong Lipunan song and other UniTeam jingles.

They proudly waved red and blue flags as they danced to the songs.

Others held up posters, with one saying “Pula ang boto,” while another said “Pula ang tunay na kulay ng rosas.”

They also loudly and cheerfully responded to the emcees of the event and Ong when he gave his opening speech to formally start the program.

They also gave resounding cheers of support when the emcees announced the arrival on the stage of several UniTeam senatorial candidates and Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa.

A 19-year- old supporter was also waiting in front of the stage ready to hand over sketches of Marcos and his running mate Mayor Inday Sara Duterte.

Mark Kian Domiquel, who hails from Lavizares, Samar which is several municipalities away from the venue, said he worked for several hours the day before to finish the sketches of BBM and Sara so he could give them to the two candidates because he had no other way of showing his strong support.
