Speaker advises 3,992 Bar passers to handle, prosecute cases without fear nor favor
SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez on Friday urged the 3,992 Bar passers to be “good lawyers” in service to the country.
He said they should also handle and prosecute cases without fear or favor.
“You should be good lawyers by serving the poor and the underprivileged. Ensure that justice is served without fear or favor,” Speaker Romualdez said. “Be a catalyst for change and uphold the standards of public service excellence in the practice of our noble profession.”
Romualdez is himself a lawyer, an alumnus of the UP College of Law and president of the Philippine Constitution Association (Philconsa).
He said the new entrants to the law profession should help improve the judicial system by representing those who cannot afford legal services.
“They should contribute to the delivery of fair, impartial and speedy justice,” Speaker Romualdez said.

Nakapasa ang 3,992 mula sa mga 9,183 na naghahangad maging abogado, o 43.47 porsiyento ng mga kumuha ng 2022 localized and digitized Bar examinations – ang itinuturing na pinakamahirap na professional licensure test sa bansa.
Sinabi ni Supreme Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, ang chairman ng 2022 exams, na magaganap ang oath-taking at pagsisign ng roll sa Mayo 2, 2023.
Ang 2022 online at regionalized na Bar examinations ay ang pangalawang beses na isinagawa ng Supreme Court, na una nang naganap noong 2020 at 2021 nang sabay, dahil sa kanselasyon ng 2020 exams bunsod ng pandemya.
Samantala, limang estudyante mula sa University of the Philippines-College of Law ang nakakuha ng unang limang puwesto sa 2022 Bar exams.
Nakuha ni Dayday, Czar Matthew Gerard Torres ang unang pwesto na may 88.80 porsiyento, kasunod ni Mariñas, Erickson Cayabyab na may 88.76 porsiyento.
Nakamit ni Cregencia, Christiane Claire ang ikatlong puwesto na may 87.96 porsiyento, habang sina Yu, Andrea Jasmine Ong at Gatapia, Kim Gia Grande ay nakuha ang ika-apat at ikalimang puwesto na may 87.77 porsiyento at 87.42 porsiyento, ayon sa pagkakasunod-sunod.
Sa isang kamakailang abiso, sinabi ng SC na kinakailangan ng mga Bar passer na magbayad ng P5,000 para sa oath-taking at roll signing.
Ang mga tagubilin sa pagbabayad ay ipadadala sa rehistradong email accounts ng mga Bar passers.
Dagdag pa rito, inaasahan na dapat naka-correct court attire ang mga Bar passers at dapat magdala sila ng kanilang black toga para sa seremonya ng oath-taking.
Kinakailangan rin na nakasuot ng tamang business attire ang mga bisita na mag-aattend ng naturang seremonya.
