Robbery suspect yields over P500K illegal drugs in GenTri
GENERAL TRIAS CITY (GenTri), Cavite – Instead of arresting for robbery, a man and his live-in partner will face another charge of illegal drug possession during a police follow-up operation after a robbery in Kawit, Cavite.
Authorities said that more than P500,000 worth of shabu was recovered from the duo in Barangay Navarro Sunday night (January 8).
GenTri Police Chief Lieutenant Col. Jose Naparato Jr. said the arrested suspects were both residents of the said barangay in General Trias City.
The alleged drug suspects are now facing charges of violating Sec. 11 Art. II of the Republic Act (RA) 9165 for illegal possession of illegal drugs and RA 10591 for illegal possession of ammunition.
According to the police report, police conducted a hot pursuit operation at around 8:20 p.m. Sunday at Bgy. Navarro to locate the suspect, tagged in the early dawn (January 8) robbery of a building in Bgy, Magdalo-Potol, Kawit.
Police were surprised that an estimated 229 grams of shabu worth P536,000 was found inside the suspects’ home.
Also recovered were 19 plastic sachets of shabu, seven units of cellphones, four pieces of live ammunition of 45 caliber guns, a 45 caliber magazine, seven pieces of glass pipes/tubes, and two lighters were also recovered from the area.
