Responding cop shoots armed robber dead in Pampanga

A POLICE officer on Friday killed one of the robbers who tried to shoot him in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

In a report to Police Regional Office (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Pampanga police director Col. Jay Dimaandal identified the fatality as alias “Nick,” 36, a driver-cum-robber residing in Bgy. Malino, City of San Fernando.

Initial probe showed that alias “Nick” and a cohort climbed the fence of a house in Malinoville, Bgy. Malino.

Neighbors Antonio Zabat, 56, and his son, Pat. Ray Lemuel, 29, saw the two men scaling the fence and entered the house by forcibly opening the main door using tools.

The cop responded and went to the house where the two suspects were still inside and made noises.

The immediately left the house with their loot.

The two were climbing down the gate when the cop tried to apprehend them but one the suspects attempted to pull out a gun, prompting the officer to shoot him.

The suspect fell on the ground and died on the spot while his cohort was able to escape and is being hunted.
