Rep. Tulfo aids families of 7 earthquake fatalities
HOUSE Deputy Majority Floor Leader Erwin Tulfo personally gave financial assistance to the families of seven people, who died in the earthquake that occurred in General Santos City and the town of Glan, Saranggani, when he visited there Sunday morning.
Cong. Tulfo, of ACT-CIS partylist, was tasked by House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez to contact local officials of General Santos City, Saranggani and Davao Occidental, regarding the damaged infrastructure in their respective areas so they can be included in the budget hearing of the upcoming Quick Response Fund of Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH).
It was learned that Tulfo gave P25,000 each to the families of the victims who died in the earthquake, four of whom, are from Saranggani and three are from GenSan.
“Dinagdagan ko lang ang anumang tulong na naibigay na sa kanila ng gobyerno para makapanimula o makabangon silang muli,” according to Tulfo.
He said, “masakit at napakahirap mamatayan at walang bagay o anumang halaga ang maaaring ipalit sa kanila.”
