Remulla, Tolentino lead Day-1 of COC filing in Cavite

TRECE MARTIRES CITY – Cavite Gov. Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr. and reelectionist Vice Gov. Athena Tolentino yesterday led the filing of certificate of candidacy (CoC) at the Provincial Election Office, Capitol Grounds in Bgy. San Agustin, this city.

Remulla, who is seeking his third and final term as Provincial Chief Executive, was accompanied by his political leaders and supporters in the 23 towns and cities. Tolentino, who is eyeing for her second term, was accompanied by her uncle Sen. Francis Tolentino, her parents Tagaytay City Mayor Bambol Tolentino and Vice Mayor Agnes Tolentino.

The top two Cavite leaders are running under the National Unity Party (NUP).

In Cavite 1st district, candidates of Lakas-CMD ticket simultaneously filed their COCs in their respective localities.

Cavite City reelectionist Mayor Denver Chua and runningmate reelectionist Vice Mayor Raleigh Rusit and 10 candidates for councilors attended the mass at the historic San Roque before proceeding to the City Comelec Office in the City Hall grounds.

Noveleta, Cavite mayoral aspirant, 1st district Board member Davey Chua and elder brother, incumbent Mayor Dino Chua, and eight councilors attended the morning mass at the Holy Cross Church in Bgy. Poblacion before going to the municipal Comelec Office.

Incumbent Kawit Mayor Angelo Emilio G. Aguinaldo who is running for vice mayor tapped his mom, topnotch councilor Amie Aguinaldo, as his runningmate for the mayoral post. They also filed their COCs, together with the eight councilor bets.

Rosario town Mayor Voltaire Ricafrente and partner Vice Mayor Bam Gonzales filed their COCs at the Rosario Comelec Office at the new Municipal Hall Building in Poblacion.

Reelectionist Congressman Ramon “Jolo” Revilla III of the 1st district of Cavite; Roy Loyola of the 5th district, Board members Aidel Belamide and Aivee Reyes of the 5th district, and Board member bet Ver Ambion of the 7th district also filed their COCs.

The 23 city and municipal election offices and the provincial election office of the Commission on Election (Comelec) have started receiving the candidates’ COCs for the upcoming May 12, 2025 midterm and local elections.
