THE House is working quietly but efficiently under Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez.

Proud Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers made the statement in reaction to Social Weather Stations (SWS) fourth quarter 2022 survey on the satisfaction rating of the different branches of government.

The SWS survey showed that the House garnered a net rating of +56 percent.

This only showed that Filipinos are appreciative of the quiet and hardworking nature of the House of Representatives under Romualdez, Barbers said.

“This is a solid satisfaction rating that shows that the majority of Filipinos like what they see in Speaker Martin Romualdez and the bigger House in general. We have done our work quietly, but efficiently. We don’t need any fanfare to get things done,” Barbers, chairman of the House Committee on Dangerous Drugs, said.

The satisfaction rating for the House is considered “very good”–unchanged from the previous SWS survey results in October 2022.

It was during the fourth and last quarter of 2022 when the House reported that it had approved on third and final reading 19 out of the 31 priority measures of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.

The House has since passed four more measures on third reading before the chamber went on summer recess last March 23.

This means that 23 out of the 31 priority measures of the Marcos administration have been accomplished by the 314-strong House, with many of them pending before the Senate.

“Tuloy-tuloy lang kami sa trabaho. Most of us probably aren’t even aware of the survey figures. But it doesn’t matter since we only follow the lead of the Speaker. Salamat sa papuri, pero trabaho lang kami,” Barbers said.
