Quezon cops seize firearms, P1M shabu from ‘supplier’

SARIAYA, Quezon – Joint police teams on Saturday arrested a suspected drug “supplier” following the seizure of five unregistered firearms and illegal drugs during a search operation inside his residence at Sitio Masay, Barangay Morong, in this coastal town.

The suspect, 46, of the said barangay, did not resist when combined operatives of Sariaya police station and 1st Quezon Police Provincial Mobile Force under Lt. Col. Rommel Sobrido and Major Rodelio Calawit, respectively, searched his residence, said Colonel Ledon Monte, the Quezon police director.

Armed with a search warrant issued by Lucena City Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Agripino Bravo, Monte said the operation was carried out by the operatives at 4:20 a.m. in the presence of barangay officials and a media representative.

During the search, Sobrido said the suspect yielded two loaded Cal. 45 Colt pistols with six magazines, two cal. 30 Carbine rifles and a cal. 22 rifle, nine plastic sachets containing 52.3 grams of shabu with a street value of P1,066,920 and P10,500 cash.

Sobrido said the suspect was listed as a “high-value individual” (HVI) by the Quezon Police Provincial Office.

Intelligence reports revealed that the suspect gets his supply outside Quezon and distributes it in this town.
