Quezon cops collar 3 drug ‘peddlers’; P3M shabu seized
LUCENA CITY – City police operatives on Wednesday morning seized a bulk of illegal drugs amounting to P3,125,280, resulting in the arrest of three suspected big-time drugs “pushers” at Akap Village, Purok Little Baguio II Barangay Ibabang Dupay, this city.
Caught red-handed with shabu were three suspects, including a woman, said Police Col. Ledon Monte, Quezon Police director.
Monte said operatives of Lucena City Police Station carried out the seizure of 153 grams of shabu and the arrest of the trio under P/Lt. Col. Erickson Roranes following tight monitoring of the suspects.
Roranes said the illegal substance was sealed in 36 plastic sachets when seized by the operatives along with five pieces of marked P1,000 bills during the drug bust operation at 9:50 a.m. (January 4).
The markings and inventory of the evidence were conducted in the presence of newsman Marlon “Rapido” Yasa and Kagawad Nilo Sadia of Bgy. Ibabang Dupay.
The suspects were detained at the city lock-up jail while the evidence was brought to Quezon Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
Upon learning of the successful operation, Calabarzon (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) Police Director P/Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez hailed the operating police unit for a job well done.
