
QCPD cops collar 217 crime suspects
QUEZON City Police District (QCPD) acting director PCol. Melecio Buslig Jr. reported the arrest of 217 crime suspects in a weeklong anti-illegal drugs and anti-criminality operation from March 16 to 22, 2025.
A total of 51 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted that led to the arrest of 68 drug suspects and confiscation of P2,846,948 worth of illegal drugs.
Fifty-five wanted persons were arrested, said the report. Among those apprehended were:
•Raymond Anthony Hornedo, 43, for carnapping. He had been evading arrest for nine years.
•Jaypee Cruz, 39, for violating RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). He had been on the run for seven years.
Mark Gil Roque, 42, for malicious mischief; John Cortez, 23, for Theft; and Jenefer Resnera, 47, for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple damage to properties. Both were evading authorities for six years.
In the drive against illegal gambling, 41 operations were conducted, which resulted in the arrest of 85 gambling suspects and confiscation of P29,789 bet money.
In the campaign against loose firearms, 9 operations were conducted, leading to the recovery of 9 firearms and the arrest of 9 individuals.
