Purchase modern equipment, ships for PCG – Tulfo
“PAANO mabantayan ng ating PCG ang West Philippine Sea (WPS) kung kulang o wala silang gamit”?
This was voiced out by ACT-CIS Representative Erwin Tulfo after House Bill 10841 or the Philippine Coast Guard Modernization Act passed the second reading in Congress last week.
“Kung ano ang kailangan ng ating coast guard, ibigay kasi nakasalakay sa kanila ang pagbantay sa WPS para hindi tuluyang makakam ang ating teritoryo,” said Tulfo.
According to the lawmaker, the PCG needs modern equipment so that their personnel can respond properly and not just be bullied.
The said bill will provide P5 billion in funds to the PCG annually to respond to any situation in these times.
“We are facing a serious kind of threat na kailangan tugunan natin dahil soberenya nga ating bansa ang nakataya dito,” Tulfo added.
