SIGNIFICANT infrastructure projects at the Police Regional Office 9 have been completed to provide officers and men of the Western Mindanao police an ideal workplace to further boost their morale and welfare, the Journal Group learned yesterday.

The projects were initiated by PRO9 director Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey M. Masauding amid his firm commitment to create a favorable working environment for his personnel.

The official said that they also got ample support from their various stakeholders and partner-government agencies to build the new facilities, which include the modern PRO9 grandstand, the Regional Medical and Dental Unit Satellite Office, a sprawling shooting range, a Child Development Center, and a new Police Non-Commissioned Officer barracks.

Under the leadership of Masauding, the PRO9 had its headquarters extension project to consolidate all their divisions under one roof in order to enhance their operational efficiency and foster better coordination.

The project received substantial support from the Public Safety Savings and Loan Association Inc. (PSSLAI), which generously contributed P27 million for the construction of the extension building, as part of its support to various corporate social programs.

Supported by their stakeholders, the PRO9 also renovated their Regional Intelligence Division building to maximize their operational capability against criminals, terrorists and other lawless elements in the region.

The PRO9 has also finished its modern 250-seated Grandstand equipped with an IT-enabled control room, a state-of-the-art Public Address System and two high-quality service lounges for command activities and programs.

The Regional Medical and Dental Unit Satellite Office was also constructed to support the overall health and readiness of the Western Mindanao police force and enhance their healthcare accessibility.

At present, the PRO9 boasts of an 8-Bay Shooting Range equipped with advanced facilities.

Masauding said the new range provides a safe environment for his personnel to hone their marksmanship and tactical skills.

The new 445-meter road circumferential road was also constructed to enhance transportation safety and efficiency inside the camp and complement the previously completed 710-meter road under Phase 1 of the project.

The PRO9 also had their LED Wall relocation and new landscaping project in their headquarters. The relocation enhanced visibility and accessibility for the audience during events while the landscaping improvements have elevated the overall aesthetic of the camp, turning every visit to the place a delightful experience, the official said.

Through the initiative of the PNP Officers’ Ladies Club Foundation Inc. and the PRO9 Officers’ Ladies Club, the PRO9 Daycare Center Child Development Center was also revitalized.

The project saw the daycare center getting an upgraded classroom environment, comfort room, kitchen, and enhanced educational resources to ensure that children of PRO9 personnel will receive the highest quality care and educational experiences from their earliest years.

At present, the Western Mindanao PNCO Barracks, which is a 3-storey facility complete with a roof deck is undergoing construction.

The project sponsored by the National Housing Authority aims to offer a well-organized and comfortable living environment for all PNCOs assigned at the regional police headquarters.

“These projects exemplify PRO 9’s ultimate goal, to uplift the morale and welfare of our dedicated personnel. By improving our workplace, we not only boost the morale of our people, but also enhance the quality of service we offer to our community,” said Masauding.
