
PRO6 men seize over P12-M shabu, jail 11 drug targets
POLICE Regional Office 6 director Brig. Gen. Sydney N. Villaflor yesterday announced the arrest of 11 drug targets in Western Visayas following a series of anti-narcotics operations which resulted in the confiscation of over P12 million worth of high-grade shabu.
Latest to be arrested in the region were two “high-value targets” identified through their aliases “Arman” and “Michael,” the official said.
The PRO6 director said that the two were arrested in a sting in Bgy. Can-an in Estancia, Iloilo around 5:10 a.m. Thursday, which led to the seizure of 1.1 kilos of the “‘poor man’s cocaine” valued at P7.480 million and an unlicensed 12-gauge shotgun.
Members of the Estancia Municipal Police Station also recovered several drug paraphernalia from the suspects, the official said in a report to Philippine National Police chief Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr.
Villaflor said that another suspect identified as alias “Mar-mar” yielded 640 grams of the “poor man’s cocaine” valued at P4.352 million during a buy-bust operation in Purok Pilipinhon in Bgy. 30, Bacolod City around 1:50 a.m. Thursday.
The suspect who was described as a member of the Caunda Drug Group operating in Bacolod City and other parts of Western Visayas yielded 16 heat-sealed plastic packets containing the drugs and the buy-bust money topped by some marked bills.
The other suspects were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in the region which yielded P1.224 million worth of shabu, Villaflor said.
One of the eight identified as alias’ Rodney’ was arrested in a sting in Bgy. 6 in Bacolod City just before 7 p.m. Wednesday. Recovered from his possession were some 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000 and the marked money.
Another identified as alias ‘Andy’ yielded 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000 during a sting in Cemetery Street in Bgy. 2, EB Magalona, Negros Occidental around 7:25 p.m. Wednesday.
Six others were arrested during an anti-narcotics operation in Zone 3, Bgy. Salvacion Habog-Habog in Molo, Iloilo City past 8 p.m. Wednesday. Confiscated from the possession fo the suspects were 70 grams of shabu worth at lest P476,000.
The suspects were identified only thru their aliases ‘Lourdes,’ ‘Ryan,’ ‘Liza,’ ‘Abeto,’
‘Chris’ and ‘Jeff.’
All arrested suspects are facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Villaflor said.
