PRO-9 bares anti-crime accomplishments

Pro9THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-9 headed by Brigadier General Roel C. Rodolfo bared its 95-day accomplishments anchored on their L.I.G.T.A.S. or safe programs in Western Mindanao.

In a report to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, the PRO-9 said the period focused on more wanted persons, loose firearms, drugs and lawbreakers.

Among those arrested were a wanted person in Zamboanga City for rape; a man wanted for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002; and another rape suspect in Zamboanga City.

The PRO-9 also accounted for over P7.5 million worth of shabu during the period amid its non-stop campaign against illegal drugs.

One of the suspects was arrested in Brgy. Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City last April 23 yielded 1,005 grams of shabu valued at P6.834 million while another suspect in Brgy. Guiwan yielded 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000.

The third suspect yielded 60 grams of shabu valued at P408,000 during an anti-drug operation in Brgy. Turno, Dipolog City last April 20.

The PRO9 under Brig. Gen. Rodolfo implemented its L.I.G.T.A.S. program as part of its effort to win the war against criminality, help discipline the police force and excel in operations.

L is Labanan ang kriminalidad na may paninindigan.’ It aims to sustain the regional police force’s anti-criminality campaign.

I is short for ‘Integridad ay Ingatan.’

G is short for ‘Gawin ang serbisyo na naaayon sa kagustuhan ng Panginoon.’

T is short for ‘Tugunan ng mabilisan at may paggalang ang hinaing ng taong bayan.’

Brig. Gen. Rodolfo said their establishment of more accessible complaint desks, faster response time, and improved community feedback mechanisms is part of their effort to win the support of the citizenry.

A is for ‘Alagaan ang kasamahan upang hindi maligaw ng landas.’

Last but not the least, S, which is short for ‘Sama-samang magbigay ng serbisyong makatotohanan.’

The official said this spirit of unity and sincerity is evident in the collaborative efforts across units in the region.
