Bearis said that the murder suspect, a resident of Barangay Sugbay Dos in Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur, went into hiding in the region after warrants for his arrest were issued by two regional trial courts (RTCs) in his province.
The suspect became the 2nd MWP in Pitogo municipality until a tip from an informant enabled a team of officers from the Larena Municipal Police Station in Siquijor and the Pitogo MPS (Municipal Police Station) in Zamboanga del Sur to track down the former in his hiding place in Bgy. Canlambo 11:30 a.m. Friday.
The PRO 7 director said that officers led by Majors Rex Ibañez, Michael Rubia, and Renante Benitez and Lieutenant Colonel Jacinto Mandal Jr. arrested the suspect based on three separate warrants of arrest.
