THE Philippine Red Cross (PRC) sent a food truck and two water tankers last June 4 to help residents of Negros Occidental cope up in lieu of the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon.

From June 4 to 7, the food truck served hot meals to 1,163 individuals in La Carlota, La Castellana and Bago City while two more food trucks in nearby chapters in Cebu and Iloilo are on standby.

Meanwhile, a 10,000-liter capacity PRC water tanker from the PRC Regional Warehouse and Logistics Hub in Mandaue City, Cebu is on its way to La Carlota, Negros Occidental.

Gordon said two more PRC water tankers will be sent to provide potable water to vulnerable communities in the province affected by the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon.
