
PRAYERS FOR POPE
CATHOLIC Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president Pablo Virgilio Cardinal David has asked bishops to ring the bells of churches for the eternal repose of Pope Francis, who died on Monday. He was 88.
He also asked the people to pray for the soul of the Holy Father, who was recently discharged from the hospital due to double pneumonia.
“Let us pls ring the bells of our churches and call our people to prayer for the eternal repose of the Holy Father Pope Francis,” the Caloocan prelate said in a social media post.
The pontiff died at his residence at Casa Santa Marta in the Vatican morning of April 21.
Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber, announced the death of Pope Francis from the Casa Santa Marta.
Pope Francis has served as the leader of the Roman Catholics around the world for 12 years.
He succeeded Pope emeritus Benedict and started his papacy on March 13, 2013. Philippine News Agency
