Pondo ng mga atletang sasabak sa Paris Olympics pinadagdagan NI PBBM
INATASAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang Office of the Executive Secretary na bigyan ng dagdag na pondo ang Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) para suportahan ang paghahanda ng mga Filipinong atleta na sasabak sa 2024 Paris Olympics.
Ginawa ni Pangulong Marcos ang pahayag sa send-off ceremony sa siyam mula sa 15 Filipinong atleta na magiging kinatawan ng Pilipinas sa Paris Olympics sa June 21, 2024.
“So, on top of all these efforts, I direct the Office of the Executive Secretary to release to the Philippine Sports Commission [additional] funds to help support the preparation and participation of our athletes in these upcoming Olympics,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos sa Ayuntamiento de Manila sa Intramuros.
“All of these demonstrate this commitment that we have to the advancement of Filipino athletes by equipping them with the tools and encouragement to realize their full potential,” dagdag ng Pangulo..
Nabatid na ang dagdag na pondo ay bukod pa sa naunang P52 milyong pondo para sa paghahanda at training ng mga atleta.
Nabatid na ngayong taon lamang, nasa P1.156 bilyon ang inilaang pondo ng pamahalaan para sa PSC.
“We continue to rehabilitate our major sports facilities, such as the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex [and] the PhilSports Complex, to give our youth a fitting stage to improve and to showcase their talents,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“And, presently, we are finishing the National Academy of Sports System in Tarlac and the Philippine Sports Training Center in Bataan to train, to hone, and to develop present and aspiring athletes for future competitions,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Hinikayat ng Pangulo ang publiko na suportahan ang mga atleta.
“To our athletes: You carry our hopes and dreams to Paris, you also carry with you the banner of our nation that believes in you, stands proudly beside you, and celebrates your every triumph, and is with you through any obstacle,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Gagawin ang 2024 Paris Olympics mula July 26 hanggang August 11, 2024.
Kabilang sa mga kompetisyon ang boxing, gymnastics, at rowing.
