Poll violence
ELECTION and police authorities ought to redouble their efforts to ensure the holding of free, honest and peaceful polls on May 12.
With just 18 days before Election Day, the public expects the campaigning to further heat up.
The election campaign period for national candidates (senators and party-list organizations) started on February 11.
The local candidates, on the other hand, started campaigning on March 28, which is 45 days before the 2025 mid- term balloting.
In the view of many, the situation is still under control, with Comelec and police authorities doing everything to ease the tension in places tagged as “areas of concern.”
And they continue to conduct checkpoints across the country to deter violence during the elections.
And with the support of the public, the government is seen to succeed in holding free, honest, peaceful and credible elections on May 12.
