SOME P10 million worth of surveillance drones were donated by Okada Manila to the Philippine National Police (PNP) to further boost its security measures during the second State-of-the-Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. on Monday.

PNP chief, General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., said the Okada donation further boosted the police’s capability to ensure public safety and enhance law enforcement operations during the address to the nation by the Commander-in-Chief.

Okada Manila president/trustee James G. Lorenza and his team presented the equipment to the PNP chief during their courtesy call on Friday.

As part of their commitment to support the nation’s security and progress, Okada Foundation Inc. donated four units of DJ Mini 3 Pro drones and one unit of DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Enterprise drones.

The initial donation is part of a total contribution of 43 units of DJ Mini 3 Pro drones and one unit of DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Enterprise drones, along with one unit of Aerovene Drone Jammer, with a combined value of P10 million.

These cutting-edge drones are equipped with state-of-the-art features, including high-resolution cameras, thermal imaging capabilities and real-time data transmission that will play a pivotal role during the 2023 SONA security.

“The importance of these drones cannot be overstated. Embracing technological advancements, such as these drones, enhances our capabilities and allows us to carry out our duties with even greater efficiency and effectiveness,” said Acorda during the ceremonial turnover of the equipment.

He explained that the deployment of these unmanned aerial vehicles will provide crucial aerial surveillance during the SONA event.

With its ability to monitor crowds, traffic and potential security threats from a strategic vantage point, the integration of drone technology empowers the PNP forces to respond swiftly and proactively, the top cop said.

He added that the surveillance capacity allows the PNP to maintain public safety while ensuring the smooth flow of activities during the highly anticipated event.

The partnership between the PNP and Okada Manila exemplifies the spirit of unity and collaboration between the private sector and the government, officials said.

Acorda expressed the PNP’s deep gratitude to Okada Manila for their generous contribution, which not only strengthens the police force’s operational capabilities but also reaffirms its commitment to supporting the nation’s security and progress.

The PNP chief also called on his men to embrace these technological advancements with dedication and responsibility.

“Let us approach the upcoming SONA with professionalism, vigilance, and perseverance. May these drones provided by Okada Manila be a symbol of our concern for the welfare of the public and our dedication to ensuring peace and order,” he said.
