A TOTAL of 200 wanted persons, including seven foreign nationals, were hauled to jail by agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) amid its intensified anti-crime operations, the Journal Group learned.
The operations resulted in the confiscation of over P109 million worth of crime evidence as well as 21 illegal firearms, said PNP-CIDG director Major General Nicolas D. Torre III.
The PNP-CIDG director said that while most of the people were on vacation, his regional units from April 13 to 20 never ceased operations to apprehend wanted criminals, confiscate loose firearms and arrest those involved in environmental crimes and property rights violation.
The crackdown resulted in the arrest of 200 most wanted persons and suspects.
Among them are 19 Regional Level Most Wanted Persons, seven foreigners from China and Singapore; 1 PNP Directorate for Intelligence-listed Criminal Group Member, 2 escaped prisoners and their cohorts including a jail guard from the Bulacan Provincial Jail, and the suspects involved in the kidnapping-for-ransom with homicide case of businessman Anson Que and his Filipino driver.

The crackdown led to the confiscation of 1,064 master cases of alleged trademark-infringed Marlboro, Carnival and RGD cigarettes worth P58,720,000.
One suspect who was driving the van carrying the contraband was arrested and is now facing charges for violation of the Intellectual Property Code and Unfair Trade Competition.
Maj. Gen. Torre said the suspected fake tobacco products were recovered in separate warehouses in Alibaba compound in Brgy. Bacag, Villasis and Zone 6, Brgy. Lelemaan, Manaoag.
The official commended the men and women of the PNP-CIDG involved in the week-long accomplishments.
