PH Red Cross continues support for Albay

PRC1THE Philippine Red Cross (PRC) marked its 112th day in Albay Sept. 28.

PRC Chairman Dick Gordon said the PRC is ready to continue assisting people affected by the volcanic eruption that started last June 8.

“We are always ready to help. However, we are also thinking of the situation of our people who have been on the ground for over three months,” Chairman Gordon said.

To date, PRC has distributed 2.7 million liters of water to the beneficiaries.It has also given out hygiene kits to 1,210 families, sleeping kits to 2,436 families, jerry cans to 3,436 families and loaves of bread to 900 families.

The humanitarian organization also set up four units of communal kitchens and served 612 families. The PRC also served 81,352 hot meals; conducted 1,521 psychosocial first aid to 1,521 individuals; provided child-friendly space to 4,016 individuals; and served 326,165 individuals during the period.

The PRC mobilized a total of 2,469 volunteers in Albay.
