PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. vowed to address traffic congestion in Metro Manila.

Marcos said this measure will help uplift the lives of Filipinos.

Marcos issued Executive Order No. 56, regulating the use of protocol license plates and Administrative Order No. 18, which prohibits government officials and personnel from using sirens, blinkers and similar signaling devices.

“After carefully considering your suggestions, I’m happy to announce a series of initiatives aimed at speeding up our traffic solutions para naman mapaganda ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino,” Marcos said in a video message.

Under EO 56, President Marcos said the government is now taking back expired special plate numbers issued to former government officials, and cut it down from the previous list of 16 to only 14 to ensure that it is used for legitimate purposes only.

“I also issued the Administrative Order No. 18 which prohibits the use of sirens, blinkers, and similar signaling devices by government officials, and personnel. Sa madaling salita, bawal na ang ‘wang- wang’,” President Marcos said.

President Marcos said the government is now working on a comprehensive and holistic plan to enhance Metro Manila’s transport system and to address traffic congestion in the metropolis.
