MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Saturday expressed elation over the high number of job seekers who were hired on the sport during the “Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan sa Bagong Pilipinas” at Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan City, Laguna.

“Mukhang dito yata sa Biñan, dito sa Laguna, pinaka-successful,” Marcos said, as he noticed that many applicants were wearing “HOTS” (hired on the spot) shirts.

Marcos thanked the participating employers and pledged that more job fairs would be held in other parts of the country.

The President said his administration would take a “whole-of-government” approach to address the challenges faced by Filipinos, especially those who are from the vulnerable sectors.

He acknowledged the local government’s contribution in ensuring the success of the national government’s livelihood and employment programs.

Around 26 local employers and companies invited by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) offered job opportunities.

Other government services and benefits were also made available to Laguna residents.

Some 3,000 graduating members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, who are also beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program, received financial aid of P3,000 each.

The DOLE also distributed P5,600 each to 200 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers emergency employment program.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health conducted a medical mission and turned over various anti-dengue logistics, such as insecticides, larvicides and long-lasting insecticides to the city health offices of Biñan and San Pedro. Philippine News Agency
